Payments and promotions

How do I pay for the items in my shopping bag?

Select 'View bag' from the top right hand corner of your screen. You will see a summary of the items you have added to your bag. You can make changes to your order at this stage if you wish.

Once you are ready to check out, you will be asked sign into your account if you have previously placed an order. If this is your first order you will be asked to create an account.

Follow the instructions to choose your delivery options, billing details and make a secure payment.

What types of payments do you accept?

Currently we accept payment through Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards, Maestro cards and PayPal. All payments are secure. Please note that we do not accept Laser Cards online.

To save yourself time while you shop, choose to save your credit card details on our secure server, that way you won’t have to enter it every time you check out.

What currencies do you accept?

Our prices and delivery charges are in Euro (EUR) for Republic of Ireland and international purchases. In the UK our prices and delivery charges are in Pound Sterling (GBP).

I forgot to enter my VALUEclub details. How can I get my points?

Your VALUEclub details must be registered in order to collect points. You cannot collect points for past orders. Make sure to register your VALUEclub details with your account to collect points on future orders.

I have a promotional code. How do I use it?

A box is provided for promotional codes when you view your bag. Enter the promotional code and your total to pay will be updated.

Why isn’t my promotional code working?

Check that you entered the code correctly and try again. Make sure it is still valid and you are following the offer’s terms and conditions. Our promotional codes can only be used once unless stated otherwise. Promotional codes cannot be used in conjunction with other offers or discounts unless stated otherwise.

I forgot to enter my promotional code. Can I do it after I’ve placed my order?

You must enter your promotional code at the beginning of the checkout process. Promotional codes can’t be redeemed after you have paid for your order.

Can I pay for an item using a Dunnes Stores gift card or gift voucher?

No. Currently you can only pay for items with our gift cards and gift vouchers in store. Use our store locator to find your nearest Dunnes Stores.

Can I use my VALUEclub vouchers as payment?

No. You can only use VALUEclub vouchers as payment when purchasing items in store. Use our store locator to find your nearest Dunnes Stores.

My payment card has been declined. What do I do?

Check to see if the card details you entered are correct and try again. If it is still being declined, contact your bank or credit card company. Alternatively, try using a different card.

I’m being asked for my card’s CVC (CVC2) number? What is it?

This is a 3 digit number on the back of your card. Entering this keeps your payment secure. 

I need to enter another password before my payment can be processed. What is this?

This is a 3D Secure password you have set up with your credit card company. If you are unsure of your password, follow the help instructions on the 3D Secure page or contact your credit card company.

What is 3-D Secure?

3-D Secure is an extra layer of security that protects your details when using a credit or debit card during online purchases. To proceed through 3-D Secure you must enter your 3-D Secure password or register your card with a 3-D Secure system. Different card providers have different 3-D Secure systems, for example Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code.

How do I register my card with a 3-D Secure system?

If it is your first time using 3-D Secure, you will be redirected from dunnesstores.com to your issuing credit or debit card’s secure website. Here you will be given instructions to verify your details and set up a password – this should only take a few minutes. Memorise this password and do not give it to anybody else. You will then be taken back to the Dunnes Stores online checkout process to continue your transaction.

How long does it take to verify my card with 3-D Secure?

Entering your 3-D Secure password and having it verified should only take a few seconds. You can then return to the checkout process and complete your transaction.

I’ve forgotten my 3-D Secure password. What should I do?

If you forget your password, select the “forgotten password” option. You will then be taken to your issuing credit or debit card’s secure website. Please follow the instructions given. Dunnes Stores does not save your 3-D Secure password nor will we ever contact you asking for it.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. We have a 3D Secure system in place to make sure our customers' payments and details are safe. Our site uses the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode systems.

If you choose to save your card details online, your details will be completely safe. Saved card details are encrypted and will only be used to process your order, using our payment partner’s system.

I realised my personal details were wrong after placing an order. What do I do?

If you entered your delivery address incorrectly we may not be able to change this as we try to process orders as soon as possible. Please contact our customer service team as soon as possible, quoting your order number and they will be happy to advise you.

I paid for my order but haven’t received a confirmation email. How do I get one?

Check the order history in my account. Here you will see your order number, summary and status. Also check your Spam/Junk inbox in your email account. Some email providers filter messages as Spam/Junk if the sender’s email address isn’t in your contact list. To prevent this happening, add orderconfirmation@dunnesstores.com to your contacts. If you haven’t received a confirmation email within 24 hours of placing your order, contact our customer service team.

Can I cancel an order after I’ve paid for it?

Under EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days from the day you receive it, known as a ‘cooling off period’. You must cancel your contract in writing to us by post or email. Contact our customer service team  as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your order.

We aim to process orders as soon as they are received so your order may have been dispatched before you choose to cancel. If this is the case, you can still get a refund on your purchase by returning it to us at the dispatch. Please see returns and exchanges for more detail.
