Furniture FAQs
How can I be sure the furniture will fit?
Before buying furniture, it is important customers confirm the measurements of their room as well as all access points before placing the order. Measurement details for each furniture item are displayed on their individual product information page in the following way: H x W x D cms or L x W x H cms.
Certain furniture items are fully assembled on arrival and it’s important to check that they will fit into the proportion of the room. We advise customers to check the item will fit through doorways, hallways and up stairs without damaging paintwork or windows. If our delivery team cannot get the furniture item into the house, they will need to return to us at the customer’s expense.
A useful way to check whether furniture will fit in a particular room is to map out the space using masking tape or newspaper. With dining tables, we would advise at least 60cm (24in) clearance from the chair when it’s out from the table to sit comfortably. When replacing older furniture, mark out the area of the new piece compared to the existing piece to check the difference in size.
How are home delivery furniture orders delivered?
Certain larger items of furniture are delivered to home addresses in the Republic of Ireland by our 2 man delivery partner. Orders are normally delivered in 5 to 7 working days from the order date. If a customer buys additional non-furniture items as part of their order, all items will arrive as part of the furniture delivery.
The delivery company will contact customers by phone to arrange delivery date. Furniture will be delivered to the room of choice (where possible). Any unpacking, assembly of furniture or removal of waste or packaging is not the responsibility of the delivery team.
How much does furniture delivery cost?
Certain larger items of furniture are delivered to home addresses in the Republic of Ireland by our two-man delivery company. These items are delivered for fee of €50 (ROI nationwide), which is added to orders during online checkout. Where can I have furniture delivered to?
Certain larger items of furniture are only available for delivery to addresses in the Republic of Ireland. Please see the Delivery & Returns section on individual product pages to see which items of furniture are available by our two-man delivery company. A delivery fee of €50 nationwide in the Republic of Ireland will be added to your shopping bag during online checkout.
Can I order furniture online and collect it from a store?
Smaller items of furniture (packages not exceeding: 1200mm x 700mm x 700mm and 31kg in weight) are available for Click & Collect to a selected ROI/NI store as they can be delivered by DPD; however, larger items of furniture which need a two-man delivery service cannot be delivered to our ROI stores for collection by customers.

Please note that customers in Northern Ireland can order larger
items of furniture in store for store collection. Delivery takes 1 to 3 working days and is free of
charge.
How can I return the furniture I ordered online?
Furniture delivered to addresses in the Republic of Ireland must be returned to our Online Store using the two-man delivery company return service. In order to receive a full refund for your order, the product must be resaleable, “as new” condition and be in its original packaging. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept furniture returns to our stores. The Refund and Exchange period is 28 days from the date of purchase on presentation of the online dispatch note.
In addition, we are unable to offer an exchange on items of furniture delivered to an address in the Republic of Ireland. For more information, see Returns, Refunds & Exchanges.

What happens if I miss my delivery slot?
Customers that miss their furniture delivery appointment will be contacted by our delivery company and have a second delivery slot scheduled. An additional delivery fee will be required and customers should arrange their redelivery details here.
What if my furniture is damaged?
Customers are requested to check each item of furniture once their order has been delivered. Any damage needs to be reported to our Customer Service team within 24 hours of delivery as Dunnes Stores is not liable for any damage reported outside of that initial 24-hour period.
