Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

ROI and NI Online and store purchases orders* made from Saturday 12th October 2024 can be returned up to Wednesday 8th January 2025.

For items that are returned to a store, an exchange or refund** can be offered up to Wednesday 8th January 2025.

For items that are returned to an Online Returns Centre by post, a refund** will be offered if received by Wednesday 8th January 2025.

*excluding large items of furniture

Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland Online and Store Refund & Exchange Policy

The Refund and Exchange period is 28 days from the date of purchase on presentation of the standard receipt or online dispatch note.

Items must be returned as sold, in saleable condition with the original packaging and all tags attached.

Cooling off period

Customers have a legal right to cancel their online order within 14 days of receiving their goods.

General Refund and Exchange Policy

Customers that are not entirely satisfied with their order can receive an exchange or refund within 28 days of purchase.

Returns by post (refund only): Customers that wish to return an online purchase for a refund should post the item(s) and the dispatch note back to us within 28 days of purchase. We recommend using a tracked postal service and retaining proof of postage for customer’s own records.

In-store exchange or refund: Customers can also exchange an item or receive a refund in store within 28 days of purchase by returning the item(s) and delivery dispatch note to the Customer Service desk in any of our stores. The item(s) must be in saleable condition and in the original packaging with swing tags attached.

Furniture Orders

Furniture items delivered by our furniture delivery team will need to be returned to our Online Store using the same service they were delivered with.

Delivery fees

The cost of returning item(s) to our Online Returns Centre will not be refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights pursuant to Clause 8 (Cooling off period – your right to cancel your order) of our Dunnes Stores - Terms & Conditions of Sale.

VALUEclub points

Please note, VALUEclub points earned from a purchase will be deducted if a refund is completed.

Depending on delivery country, customers have a number of options to choose from in returning their order to us.

Return of orders delivered to the Republic of Ireland:

Items can be returned for a refund up to 28 days following purchase - Items must be returned as sold, in saleable condition with the original packaging and all tags attached.

DPD.ie Returns Service: Choose from 600 drop off locations, 7 days a week. Visit DPD.ie/returns and select Dunnes Stores online to proceed.

An Post Click and Post service: Choose between dropping returns to a Post Office or arranging Home Collection (Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm) for an additional fee. Visit the website and select Dunnes Stores from the retailer list to proceed.

Return of orders delivered to Spain:

For orders delivered to other EU/EEA countries:

For international orders to Rest of World (ROW - non EU/EEA)

Customers should return their order to the address below using a tracked postal option within 14 days of receipt - Items must be returned as sold, in saleable condition with the original packaging and all tags attached.

Furniture delivered to addresses in the Republic of Ireland must be returned to our Online Store using the two-man delivery company return service. In order to receive a full refund for your order, the product must be resaleable, “as new” condition and be in its original packaging. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept furniture returns to our stores. The Refund and Exchange period is 28 days from the date of purchase on presentation of the online dispatch note.

In addition, we are unable to offer an exchange on items of furniture delivered to an address in the Republic of Ireland. For more information, see Returns, Refunds & Exchanges.

The cost of returning an item of furniture to our Online Store through our two-man delivery company is €32.50 per collection. Please phone 0818 30 00 66 to book and pay for a furniture return.

Refund processing times vary depending on the method of returns:

In-store returns: When customers return an item in store, the refund is made to the payment card or PayPal account used to pay for the item(s) at the time of return.

Postal returns: Refunds for orders sent to our Online Returns Centre can take up to 7 working days to process from the day they are received.

Please note, the card issuing bank or Paypal may take a further 3-5 working days to credit the relevant account.

In the unlikely event a customer has not received a refund after 21 days from the date of return, please contact our Customer Service team.

Cooling off period

For customers that wish to cancel their order pursuant to Clause 8 (Cooling off period – your right to cancel your order) of our Dunnes Stores - Terms & Conditions of Sale, we endeavour to reimburse the refund without undue delay and not later than 14 days after the day on which you have informed us of your decision to cancel the contract. We may withhold payment until we have received the item(s) back or sufficient evidence that the goods have been returned (whichever occurs first).

Refunds cannot be given (save as otherwise provided) on:

Face Masks/Coverings

For hygiene reasons either sealed or unsealed.

Underwear

If the items are returned unsealed or not in the original packaging (if applicable) or without the swing tags (if applicable).

Swimwear

for hygiene reasons if seal opened/removed after delivery.

Pierced jewellery

for hygiene reasons if seal opened/removed after delivery.

Personal grooming products or cosmetics

For hygiene reasons if seal opened/removed after delivery.

Bedding

Sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, duvets, pillows etc. - for hygiene reasons if seal opened/removed after delivery.

Mattresses

For hygiene reasons either sealed or unsealed.

Curtains

In packaging opened or damaged. Please note, this does not affect your right to return curtains under Clause 8 (Cooling off period for online order cancellation

Other sealed goods

That are not suitable for return for health protection and hygiene reasons and which were unsealed after delivery.

Gift Cards

Please note, this does not affect your right to return gift cards under Clause 8 (Cooling off period for online order cancellation

Perishable goods, fresh food and Christmas hampers containing perishable items.

This does not apply in respect of faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods where your statutory rights are unaffected.

Gifts can be returned in store within 28 days of purchase upon presentation of the item(s) in saleable condition, including swing tags and original packaging and delivery dispatch note. Item(s) can be exchanged for other item(s) up to the value paid for the gift or the amount can be transferred to a Dunnes Stores gift card for future use.

The original purchaser of the gift may be able to cancel the order within 14 days of receipt of the item pursuant to Clause 8 (Cooling off period – your right to cancel your order)</> of our Dunnes Stores - Terms & Conditions of Sale.

If customers return a gift by post to our Online Returns Centre, the refund will be processed back to the form of payment used to make the purchase.

In the unlikely event that your online purchase is faulty, we are happy to provide a refund. Please contact Customer Service and we will advise the next steps to return the item to us.

Faulty items can also be returned in store by presenting the order and delivery dispatch note to the Customer Service desk in any of our stores. Once we confirm the item is faulty, we will refund the amount paid to the original form of payment or exchange it for another item in store.

If customers receive an incorrect item, we advise that they first review the details of their order, either by checking their Order Confirmation email or logging in to their dunnesstores.com account. Customers that have received an incorrect item should contact our Customer Services team for further assistance.
